well its almost time to leave work for the day. I will be going to the Red Sox game tonight with Alex Berger. He's got great seats and the weather should be perfect to watch a ballgame. Too bad Bronson "Tessie" Arroyo is pitching. Tonight is also the start of the college football season. I love this time of year because I love college football and the nfl and everything that comes with it (hint..gambling! I just decided that I will keep a tally on my gambling activities on this blog! yeah! brilliant! I'm not sure how much money ive made or lost gambling, but all i can say is this...i've been gambling since i was 14 and have never ran out of money in my checking account..I was a pretty successful partime bookie for a 3 month period during my senior year of high school. I also have taken some huge hits. My first time in Vegas during the most recent Super Bowl (pats-eagles), i lost over $1,000. yikes. so, just like in life, gambling is all about the ups-and-downs. gambling is similar to those other habits like drinking and smoking. A very important person in my life used to get concerned about me when I would have a crummy run gambling and then I would act all crabby and negative. Well, usually that feeling wears off in about an hour...But have you seen a nicotine addict behave when he/she doesn't smoke a butt for a whopping day? or have you notices how an alcoholic acts when they haven't had a drink in 48 hours? They aren't exactly "fun" people to be around with either. and when those people have lungs that don't work and stained teeth, or a shrivelled up liver and a permanent red nose, I will still be picking winners. By the way, I gave up marijuana for over 3 months..COLD TURKEY. so i have willpower. gambling is too much fun though, i love watching sports. My top picks for tonight will be these...

Look for the Red Sox to sweep Tampa Bay tonight..
Take Houston over the Cincinatti Reds...

As for the gridiron...
Steve Spurrier makes his debut as coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks..Lay the 21 points and look for SC to roll over Central Florida...

Aloha means goodbye for now..
